of a Lafayette Flying Corps Badge/insignia. These were eventually worn on the Uniforms by the Members of the Lafayette Escadrille/ Flying Corps. This insignia has the star above the eagle, indicating early war membership. Later insignia doesn't have the star. These are molded from an original but have pin backs and come with clutch back fasteners.
Why did we go with a pin back and not pin and catch? So these can never be mixed up and mistaken for original items. So they can be attached and removed from uniforms without making any large holes and are easy to adjust.
