Russian shelling on the center of Kharkiv injured 23 people. In Odesa, at least 11 were injured.
At least 23 people have been injured in a Russian daytime attack on Kharkiv, according to its regional governor.
The 8.30am attack targeted a central, densely populated residential area, said Kharkiv’s mayor further noting that the city was attacked with a modified S-400 missile.
Local authorities reported damaged residential houses, and an administrative building, including cars and buildings on fire as a result of the strike.
The southern city of Odesa also underwent daytime attacks, and 11 people were reported injured.
Local authorities stated that the missile strike damaged civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, vehicles, and shops. Additionally, two educational facilities were harmed in the attack.
Oleh Kiper, the governor of the Odesa region, reported on social media that, “Russian terrorists have targeted the downtown area of our regional center for the second Monday in a row,”. An attack last week which left 10 people dead and the city without power for 2 days.
Ukraine’s air defences reported to have downed 50 of 73 Russian drones launched during overnight attacks, dozens of them targeting Zaporizhzhia.
Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, reported that the blast wave and debris from the attack damaged private houses and industrial facilities in one of the city’s districts.
In Russia, Kursk’s governor reported on his telegram channel that air defences destroyed seven Ukrainian missiles overnight over the region.
Whilst Russia’s military captured a British national fighting with Ukrainian troops who have occupied part of Russia’s Kursk region.
The captured Briton, identified by state news agency Tass and other media as James Scott Rhys Anderson, was quoted by Tass as saying he had served as a signalman in the British army for four years before joining the International Legion of Ukraine, which was formed early in Russia’s nearly three-year-old war against its neighbour.
